NAPPANEE, IN (October 10, 2013) – A groundbreaking ceremony and open house event will officially kick off Phase One construction for Craftsman Village in Nappanee. The event will be held on Thursday, October 17, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the neighborhood’s main entrance located at S. Jackson Street and Newcomer Street. In case of rain, the event will be held at the Nappanee Chamber of Commerce, 302 W. Market Street. The public is invited to attend, no RSVPs are required.
Participants in the groundbreaking ceremony will include developer Tim Saylor, Reliance Construction owners, Nappanee Chamber President Jeff Kitson, and local elected officials. Following, representatives will be on hand to answer any questions and share the vision for Nappanee’s newest neighborhood. Coffee, hot apple cider, and light appetizers will be served.
Craftsman Village will offer various traditional neighborhood design (TND) elements like houses with front porches, wide sidewalks, narrow tree-lined streets, and shared spaces like a lake, community garden, and children’s playground.
Phase One will include construction of home lots one through eight. Phase Two will include an additional 14 home lots. At full development, the neighborhood will cover a total of 44 acres and will be the first National Association of Home Builders Green Certified Neighborhood in the area.
